Cowboy Boots Banned

A recent mishap in Florida caused police Chief Bill Smith to ban cowboy boots from all officers on duty. This from a news article that caught our attention. The news story comes from a rural Florida town where a police officer’s cowboy boots have been blamed on something a bit unusual.

Instead of making news for running down perps in his pair of Justin ropers, Officer Michael Herko’s cowboy boots were cited as the cause of an accident. It seems that Herko, a 40 year veteran of the Trenton police staff, was driving by a local convenience store when his leather soled ropers slipped off the brake, causing Herko’s squad car to go careening into the store’s two glass doors.

The story serves as a reminder that while great footwear, anyone wearing cowboy boots, especially on-duty policemen, should take extra precaution when driving. Make sure that you take proper care of your cowboy boots. If your leather soles begin to wear down, or just don’t give you enough traction, consider getting rubber soled work boots, such as Justin ropers or even some fancy Lucchese boots with crepe soles. You can be stylish and safe at the same time, and you’ll keep cowboy boots from getting banned across the country!
