Frye Boots

Frye boots are fantastic cowboy boots, as far as we’re concerned.  We carry a large selection of them, especially ladies’ ones, so you might think we’re just saying that because we have a vested interest in selling them.  Not so!  We have only the purest intentions in our hearts, and in this particular case, our intentions are to spread the wonderful word about Frye boots to lands far and wide.  In 1863, when this venerable boot business first got off the ground, we’d have trouble spreading the word.  However, thanks to the far-reaching powers of the internet at our 2010-era fingers, all we need to do is blog to share our love.  Glory be!

Ahem.  Back to Frye boots.  As we just wrote, Frye was started in 1863 by noted English bootmaker John A. Frye.  The business burgeoned under his watch for 48 years, until his death in 1911.  At that point, Frye boots remained in the family until 1945.

Since they started so long ago—long ago, in fact, to be the oldest continuously run bootmaker in America—Frye boots have been worn in some monumental historical moments.  Soldiers on both sides of the American Civil War and in the Spanish-American War wore their footwear.  So did many of the Western-roaming pioneers.

If you’re aware of cowboy boot history, you’d know that cowboy boots descended from a venerable lineage of European cavalry boot that began with Mongolian riding boots and evolved through Hessian footwear and the English Wellington boot.  Frye harkened back to their ancestry by creating their Jet Boots, which are made in the imitable Wellington style.

We have many excellent Frye boots on offer.  Some of our favorites include Womens Frye Chestnut Harness Boots, with their handsome Goodyear welts, and Womens Frye Black Carson Pull On Boots, which are incredibly elegant.  Of course, these are just a small selection of the wide array of cowboy boots we have to choose from.
